Everything you need to know before your cruise
No license required! Duffy boats are electric, go only 5 mph, and operate entirely within the protected harbor. We'll give you a quick 5-minute orientation, and you'll be cruising confidently. If you can drive a car, you can drive a Duffy—it's actually easier.
The person who books and signs the waiver must be 25 years or older. They're responsible for the boat and the group. Passengers of all ages are welcome, including infants—we have life jackets for everyone.
Yes! Guests 21+ may bring alcohol aboard. Please drink responsibly—you're operating a boat. No glass containers allowed (cans, plastic bottles, and boxes are fine). Wine, champagne, beer, and seltzers are all popular choices.
Absolutely! We're very pet-friendly. Dogs love cruising on the Duffy—many become regulars! Just keep them leashed when boarding and be mindful of other passengers. We've hosted everything from tiny chihuahuas to giant Great Danes.
Light drizzle? We sail! Heavy rain or unsafe conditions? We'll reschedule your cruise at no charge. Our boats have canopy coverage that provides some protection, but we prioritize safety. If we cancel due to weather, you'll get a full refund or reschedule.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your rental for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable, but we're happy to reschedule when possible. Weather cancellations by us are always fully refunded.
There's no bathroom on the Duffy boats. We recommend using our facilities before departure. For longer cruises (2-3 hours), you can dock briefly at Peter's Landing to use their restrooms.
Sunset times vary by season. For the best sunset experience, book a 2-hour cruise starting about 1.5 hours before sunset. Our staff can recommend ideal times when you book. Summer sunsets are around 8pm; winter sunsets around 5pm.
Yes! Balloons, banners, streamers—go for it! Just no confetti, glitter, or anything that could blow into the water. Many guests decorate for birthdays, bachelorettes, and anniversaries. You're welcome to arrive early to set up.
Street parking is available along Pacific Coast Highway near our location. We have a small lot for loading/unloading only (not long-term parking). Arrive 15 minutes early to find parking and load your gear onto the boat.
