Anyone can ride as a passenger in a tandem kayak. To paddle solo, we recommend age 12+. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. We have child-sized life jackets available.
Absolutely! We're very pet-friendly. Many dogs love kayaking—they sit right in front of you on the kayak. Just make sure your pup is comfortable with water and can sit calmly.
Our sit-on-top kayaks are extremely stable and rarely tip. But if you do go in, the water is calm and shallow in most areas. Life jackets are required and will keep you safe. You can easily climb back on from the water.
Comfortable clothes that can get wet. Swimsuit, shorts, quick-dry clothing all work great. Bring a hat and sunglasses. Avoid jeans or anything cotton that stays wet and heavy.
Safety first. If conditions aren't suitable for paddling—high winds, rain, or lightning—we'll contact you to reschedule or refund. Light wind is usually fine; the harbor is protected from most weather.
The harbor has about 9 miles of canals total. Most people cover 2-3 miles in an hour at a relaxed pace. You can paddle as far as you want within your rental time—explore all five islands or just cruise one area.
Yes! Seabridge Park has a small beach where you can pull up and take a break. There are also restrooms there. Trinidad Park is another good rest spot with a sandy beach area.
